Some great music is just a wee bit too "interesting" composition-wise to ever appeal to mainstream audience. Most mainstrean music is too damned uninteresting to be worth listening to repeatedly. This song, from one of the truly groundbreaking, game-changing, and best albums of all times (Love - Forever Changes, 1967), manages to grab your attention instantly, while at the same time featuring an awesome, strange, off-standard composition. Arthur Lee is no more, his music lives on.
Apparently George Clinton (while on LSD...) told Funkadelic's guitarist Eddie Hazel to play this solo as if he just received the news of his mother being dead, and then found out his mother was actually still alive. The result is a mind blowing close to 10 minutes solo that shoots straight into immortality. All other instruments were dimmed during mixing, once Clinton realized the sheer lyrical force of Hazel's take. Enjoy.

Brian Eno + Robert Fripp (of King Crimson fame) = genius. One of the best face-melting guitar solos you'll ever hear. Featured as played by (some members of) Radiohead in Velvet Goldmine.

My two year old shitty Creative headset finally gave in, after going through a "mono period" (yes, due to no more sound on the right, I rewired it and it came out all nice, but mono). It was a mic-headphones combo one would use for instant messaging and some gaming, but would be ashamed to admit to actually listening to music through it. May it RIP.
