Inner balance requires at least this: you must know who you are and where (in the largest sense) you are. The rest, all the way to happiness, is simply a matter of maintaining this awareness at all times. Knowing who you are, and where you are is the sine qua non basis for becoming someone else, somewhere else, should you want it — and you usually do.

The doubt of not knowing who, and where you are, will inevitably cause you to lie to yourself about being someone else, somewhere else.

Without inner balance, life becomes an incessant, dreadful effort, nothing short of tightrope walking.

Find out who, and where you are, for this is your identity — who you are. Before that, “where am I going” is utterly irrelevant.
